Hope*Filled Mondays No. 6 – Lead Me To The Rock

Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. – Psalm 61:1-3

When a sweet follower requested this verse a few weeks ago, I had no idea just how timely the would be. These days are difficult days.

As I write these words, life looks quite different than it did even a week ago. COVID-19 has spread across the globe, changing nearly every facet of our lives.

  • A week and a half ago, schools closed to help minimize the spread.
  • Two days ago, my husbands company sent home employees to work remotely.
  • Last night I spiked a fever, sending me to isolate in the bedroom, unable to care for my daughter.
  • Today my church decided to suspend worship gatherings indefinitely, moving to livestream services and digital conference calls for small groups.

A tiny, microscopic organism has changed the entire scope of our lives. COVID-19 has broken down any inkling of self-reliance and independence to which we once held. It has exposed us as what we truly are – weak and fragile humans dependent on the Lord for our every need, our every moment, and our every breath.

As we face these days, may we look to the Lord for our strength and peace, knowing His will shall be accomplished and His purposes shall stand. We may not know what tomorrow holds, but He does, and He promises to work every single thing for the good of those who love Him. May we fix our eyes on our Rock, and live each day surrendered to His will for our moments.

Enjoy this weeks free lockscreen and print! I’d encourage you to print them and share with friends and neighbors as you drop off groceries, prescriptions, and care packages in the weeks to come.

grace + peace to you,
